Mother took explicit photos of daughters

An Oxford Circle woman has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for taking sexually explicit photos of her daughters, ages 6 years and 16 months, and for offering to send the older girl to Michigan to meet a man for sex.

Christine Yoder, 33, who was living in the Oxford Village housing project, sent explicit pictures of her 6-year-old to a confidential FBI informant and to an undercover FBI agent in May 2014 via an instant messaging application for mobile devices, according to a grand jury indictment. That month, Yoder also corresponded with the informant (and later the agent) via social media and offered to put the girl on a plane to Detroit to meet the man for sex.

In those communications, Yoder indicated that she didn’t want her daughter back and that the girl would be with the man “til u die.” Yoder also encouraged the informant to impregnate the girl so that Yoder would become a grandmother.

In March, Yoder pleaded guilty to producing and distributing child pornography. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Chief Judge Petrese B. Tucker sentenced Yoder on Oct. 20 to serve 10 years of supervised release and to pay a special assessment of $400. ••
